Serverless: Architecture Style or Deployment Strategy?

Serverless has become very popular in the past several years. However, there is a lot of confusion about what it is. Is it an architecture style, or just a deployment strategy? If it isn't an architecture style on its own, then what architecture styles are serverless? In this Q&A forum we discuss our views about serverless and what it is (and isn't).
