Managing Distributed Transactions

Distributed architectures use what are called BASE transactions to manage transactional boundaries. Rather than ACID properties of traditional database transactions, these transactions rely on sagas, eventual consistency, and compensating updates. In this forum we will discuss the pros and cons of distributed transactions and talk about different ways of managing them in a distributed environment. Please come prepared with your questions as we use them to drive the forum.
